Mr. Yonghua Lu

Mr. Yonghua Lu is the Chairman of the Board, and founder of Solarfun. He also has been chairman of Linyang Electronics since 1997 and was general manager of that company from 1997 to August 2006. Linyang Electronics had been the parent company of Linyang China until June 2, 2006. Mr. Lu was general manager of Qidong Changtong Computer Group Company, and deputy manager of Qidong Computer Factory, from 1988 to 1996.

Mr. Lu has over 20 years of experience in enterprise management. He has received many awards and honors for his entrepreneurship, including being named one of Jiangsu Province’s Top Ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs and Fifth-term National Township Entrepreneur.

 

Mr. Hanfei Wang

Mr. Hanfei Wang is Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Solarfun. He joined the company in 2005 from Hongdou Group Chituma Motorcycle Co, where he was Chief Operating Officer from 2004 to 2005. Prior to that, he held a number of positions at Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. from 2001 to 2004, including Manufacturing Manager, Marketing Manager, Management Representative and Deputy Production General Manager.  From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Wang was a Senior Supervisor of Production and Materials at Wuxi Nemic-Lambda Electronics Co., Ltd., a PRC subsidiary of Densei-Lambda K.K.- a publicly listed company in Japan, where he was responsible for production and quality management.

 

Dr. Sven M. Hansen

Dr. Sven M. Hansen has been a Director of Solarfun since August 2006. Dr. Hansen currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Good Energies, a leading investor in renewable energy and energy efficiency. He also serves as the Chairman of Concentrix Solar GmbH, a German company that focuses on the development of concentrator technology solar power plants, he is a Director of NorSun, a producer of mono crystalline ingots and wafers, and of Sunfilm a Thin-film producer who uses ultra large size glass substrates with the higher module efficiencies of dual junction silicon thin film; and he is Director of InErgies Capital Inc.- a Swiss company that advises on energy sector investments. Furthermore, he is a member of the advisory board of the Sustainable Energy Finance Initiative of the United Nations. From 2001 to 2003, he was a Managing Partner of Black Emerald Group in Switzerland. Dr. Hansen served as group Finance Director and was also a member of the Executive Board of Intels Group from 1999 to 2001. From 1996 to 1998, he worked in New York and London as a Vice President and an Executive Director in the Structured Finance group of UBS.

 

Mr. Yinshang Gu

Mr. Yinshang Gu, 69. He started his career from Electricity Administration Bureau of Eastern China. He worked there for 36 years till he retired. Before he retired in 1999, Mr. Gu was Deputy Director of Eastern China Electricity Administration Bureau and Director of Shanghai Electricity Administration Bureau.

Mr. Gu's experience, expertise and social relationship will benefit greatly the companies ability to tap China's PV market, enhancing the company's influence in the industry, obtaining more business opportunity and experts.


Mr. Thomas J. Toy

Mr. Thomas J. Toy has served as an independent Director of Solarfun since November 2006. His other current positions include Director and incoming Chairman-elect of the Board, compensation committee chairperson and audit committee member of UTStarcom Inc. (Nasdaq: UTSI), Director and corporate governance committee chairperson of White Electronic Designs Corp. (Nasdaq: WEDC) and director of several privately held companies. Mr. Toy has also been co-founder and managing director of PacRim Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California, since 1999, and he is a partner with SmartForest Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Portland, Oregon. From 1987 to 1999, he was Partner and Managing Director of the Corporate Finance Division of Technology Funding, a venture capital firm based in San Mateo, California. From 1979 to 1987, Mr. Toy held several positions at Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association, including vice president.

 

Mr Terry McCarthy

Mr. Terry McCarthy has served as an independent Director of Solarfun since November 2006. From 1985 to 2006, Mr. McCarthy worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP in San Jose, California in various roles, including as Managing Partner, Tax Partner-in-charge and client services Partner. Beginning in 1999, he worked extensively with companies entering the China market and, from 2003 to 2006, he was Associate Managing Partner of the Deloitte US Chinese Services Group. In 1976, Mr. McCarthy co-founded Hayes, Perisho & McCarthy, Inc., a CPA firm in Sunnyvale, California, where he was an audit Partner and President from 1976 to 1985. From 1972 to 1976, he held several positions at Hurdman & Cranstoun, CPAs, including Senior Audit Manager.

 

Mr. Ernst A. Bütler

Mr. Ernst A. Bütler has been an independent Director of Solarfun since November 2006. Mr. Bütler has been an independent board member/consultant and owner of E.A. Bütler Management in Zurich since 2005. His other current positions include board member of Bank Frey & Co. AG, Zurich, Chairman of the Board of Alegra Capital Ltd., Zürich, board member of PHI Investment, Zurich, consultant to the owner of a group of PRC companies, and advisor to the executive board of Partners Group in Zug, Switzerland, the largest independent Asset Manager of Alternative Investments in Europe. From 1999 to 2005, he was a partner of Partners Group in Zug, responsible for markets in Switzerland, Italy and France. Mr. Bütler spent over 25 years with Credit Suisse and Credit Suisse First Boston, where his last assignment was Managing Director and co-head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division in Switzerland.

 

Dr. Philip Comberg

Dr. Philip Comberg has served as our independent director since December 2007. Dr. Philip Comberg is a founding partner of Alcosa Capital GmbH & Co KG, a Frankfurt based investment firm which focuses on control investments in stressed and distressed companies. Since the foundation of Alcosa Capital at the end of 2003 Philip has served as a board member at various of the acquired companies, most recently SecurLog GmbH. Previously, he worked as an investment banker with the financial institutions group of Deutsche Bank Global Corporate Finance in Frankfurt. Prior to his investment banking career, Philip worked as an M&A lawyer with Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer and Clifford Chance in their offices in Düsseldorf, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Philip holds a law degree of the University of Heidelberg and a Chinese Language Degree of Zhong Shan University, Guangzhou, P.R. China. He also holds a Master of Law (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law and a Doctor of Law (PhD) from the University of Düsseldorf.

 

Mr. Hoskens

Mr. Hoskens serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Solarfun Power Holding Co. Ltd since February 25, 2008.

Mr. Hoskens began his career with Royal Philips in 1988 following the receipt of his Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering & Management Science from Eindhoven University of Technology. In his first period at Philips he focused on Supply Chain and Supply Base execution and improvement for different business entities. In 1997, Mr. Hoskens moved to the Royal Philips' Mobile Display Systems (MDS) division in Hong Kong, serving as its CEO beginning in September 2003. MDS was a leading global player in the mobile LCD markets with extensive operations throughout Asia, as well as South America and Europe. At MDS, Mr. Hoskens helped to introduce new product concepts with leading customers in the cellular and automotive industries. Mr. Hoskens led MDS into a merger with Toppoly from Taiwan, creating TPO Displays Corporation. TPO Displays focuses on the leading technologies for mobile displays (LTPS-TFT and AMOLED). In the integration process after the merger, he served in Taiwan as Deputy CEO with a focus on customers, technology and marketing for the newly established company. TPO Displays is currently privately held.

 

Ms. Amy Liu

Ms. Amy Liu serves as Solarfun’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Solarfun in October 2007, Ms. Liu was Vice President and Director of Finance of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. from 2004 to 2007 where she was responsible for the Mainland China and Hong Kong regions. From 1997 to 2003, Ms. Liu served as Finance Manager in several business units of DuPont, including Herberts, the coatings subsidiary of Hoechst, which was acquired by DuPont in 1998. From 1996 to 1997, Ms. Liu served as Finance Supervisor at Swire CocaCola Dongguan. Prior to this, she was Senior Accountant at China Construction Bank (Dongguan Branch) between 1994 and 1996. Ms. Liu received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Beijing Nuclear Industrial Administration University and her MBA from Columbia Southern University in the United States.
